A group of Azerbaijanis living in Paris protested today in front of Azerbaijani Embassy in Paris against the pressures on the freedom of speech. The news were told to "Radio Liberty" by one of the organizers of the protest Agil Khalil.
According to Agil Khalil, about 20 participants gathered in front of the embassy, voicing slogans and protesting against the pressures on free speech in Azerbaijan:
"We presented the statement of the protest to the embassy. In the statement, we demand the release of arrested journalists, the fulfillment of obligations that Azerbaijan has undertaken to the European Council and also stopping measures against people with alternative political ideas."

Famil Alyev, Azerbaijan's Council General in Paris has met with members of the protests and listened to their demands.
According to Agil Khalil, French and Swedish communication/mass media sources followed up on the protest. Azerbaijanis living in France are planning to hold a protest action against the arrest of Adnan Hajizada and Emin Milli on July 23rd in front of UNESCO's Head Office in Paris.
